Latest KHB: The Practice of Programming

Linux Weekly News just published my latest Kernel Hacker’s Bookshelf article, on The Practice of Programming, by Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike. This book covers a wide range of practical software engineering techniques, on everything from interface design to writing readable if statements. It’s one of my all-time favorites and should be on every programmer’s bookshelf. Judging from the comments so far, a lot of people agree with me.

  1. Thanks for the tip

    Hey,
I spotted you post by way of kernelplanet.org where I lurk in the shadows. This book is an excellent read. I’m still a sucky coder, but at least now I have a better idea why :)
    Thanks again,
    Z.
