Software testing: Lessons from the Roadrunner

I recently binged on Roadrunner cartoons (the classic no-words ones) and couldn’t help but notice the parallels between Wile E. Coyote and your average programmer. He’ll test and retest his roadrunner-killing contraptions but when the time comes to deploy the system for real, it breaks in some totally unexpected and illogical way. Many more parallels can be drawn, but I’ll just say that the catapult sequence is my favorite.

(Lots of Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote can be found on The Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 2, Disc 2.)
